    Drawing Prompts: My Thoughts

Now and then, I have thoughts about drawing prompts or writing. If I had to choose between the two, you know what which I would pick? Nothing against being a writer, but I feel that I’m struggling and I don’t even know if it’s having a negative or positive impact. In essence, I wrote that because it’s my solution. At the end of the post, I’ll include the weekly art prompt. If you feel so inclined, go ahead and write or draw about it.

    Drawing Prompts or Writing?

Like any week, I haven’t been writing, but drawing every day, I could find the time. Write or draw? The answer could include keeping a diary or a notebook handy to jot down my thoughts. What kind of ideas should an artist record? Two solutions can consist of, the problem and process. I can decorate the artwork with instructions. It will look messy, but I can say it’s part of the art.

Try to answer the above question

To answer the question above, replace the second word with your passion. For example, write or sports, write or music, write or eating, write or draw? If you have time, try to think about your enthusiasm and how you can combine the two in interesting ways. In my case, maybe the problem is the solution. If you do comment, thank your time!

Weekly Drawing Prompt: Back to School

If you answered the write or draw question above, you are well on your way in becoming great. However, if you truly want a challenge, see if you can come up with a response for Back to School drawing prompt? In other words, write or draw anything related to that cue and include a link back to this original post. The previous prompt was Internet dating, while not a prompt for WordPress. It is in the meetup, Imaginative Illustrators Of NYC.

Thank you for reading. I am thankful for your continued support!

    Podcast Episode Two: Transcribing

Transcribe it! Is it possible to write freely, draw freely without worry of search engine optimization? I long for having the ability to post images of my drawings. I’m striving to become an artist, and the steps I’m about to take will get me closer. Let me know what you think of the new format? A few weeks ago, I did another podcast on Quick Poses. It used a different way to describe the podcast.

    Transcribe: The Summary

    Full Transcript

Hello everybody today I am doing something interesting with a podcast while trying to transcribe it at the same time. Always thinking like I’ve been writing these blog post stain some days Some Nights now I’ve been writing them down the weekend, but I always wanted to just draw and have my pictures sort of tell the story. But lately, I’ve been more worried about the SEO and making sure I have a story to tell before I share my artwork and it has really slowed me down. Probably wondering why I’m saying. At the end of my sentence so like I said before I am using an interesting method to transcribe my podcast/blog post I found something online about a Corky way to transcribe. So what you do is you open up a Google Docs or Word Microsoft Word is kind of similar to it. And you go to tools and enable voice recording. It’s a little tricky because you need to first start recording on your recording software. Okay, what kind of recording software am I using I’m using? The cool thing about that is it does two types of recording what is the text which is going to be written as I am talking and the other is recording my voice in the actual podcast as I’m talking. While I’m talking I’m looking at the Google Docs, and it’s typing exactly what I’m saying, but sometimes I got to go in there and correct it this is great. Okay, let me say that again this is great because I don’t need to pay somebody to transcribe my podcast, in fact, this is so easy I might just continue using this. Normally I shoot for 300 words or more when writing my blog post so I think this will really speed things up for me because now I can just focus on what do you call a drawing and not actually writing the damn thing. I can also have this podcast ready for you to listen to instead of reading my texts but if you’re up for reading, you can go ahead and read the text as well. Starting to get used to saying. All the time haha. So I think I’m about I’m about 40 minutes into the podcast.. 40 minutes 4 minutes yeah there you go don’t be an addition as a complete mystery to me we’ll need to figure out how to use it in the future. I did look into a subscription sorry at transcription service, and I’m going to give it a test to see if they do a good job and if they do I might give it a good review. I wanted to talk about what I did after I got home after work but I have to try to remember what that was. What did I do I worked on eating first and those watching an Andromeda to sci-fi Space movie with Captain Dylan Hunt. After that, I went over to my computer machine and I started working on would I start working out I went on you. My and I started looking at my environment course that I signed up for. What is this environment course it’s I want to learn how to draw environments for another project I’m working on so hopefully I can share some of those images with you in this blog post. After that I submitted the environmental work that I did for you tomorrow and I put it up my deviantART page for other people to look at I’m pretty proud of myself because I worked on this thing during my commute the second time around like came out really nice some cool looking trees and some backgrounds fading out at the distance creating atmospheric environmental thingamabob. Okay after that I went ahead and signed into my gum road to look into my favorite artist rent friend is doing a tutorial in the basic fundamentals of drawing and I was watching his third video on creating treasure chests. While practicing, I started working in Photoshop, and I was just freehanding and eyeballing the perspective lines its kind of hard to explain Over podcast it’s kind of easier if I just throw it out and show it to you may be in a time-lapse one day. As I’m recording this thing over this podcast, I’m starting to notice a few things while the Google Doc is recording my text. Sometimes it just stops recording, and I have to go and press it so if you hear a weird pause in the podcast that’s why. Some ready 10 minutes into the podcast and I’m pretty happy with the result. I think that I will have to edit some of the text in this Google Docs, so it looks readable cuz some of the things that it wrote here are not spelled correctly but for the most part it’s great can’t wait to share this with you definitely will leave the pictures in the blog post somewhere in between some of this text as I’m writing it or them talking in the software is writing it If you like this new format just let me know in the comments below trying to be as open as-as positive about it as possible I think this would be great way for me to connect with my audience and answer any of your questions anyway thanks for joining in or if you do listen to the podcast thanks for listening to that as well I have it set up with Google so if you do want to subscribe there should be a way to do it I’m just not sure how once I find out I’ll share that way with you. Take care Transcript

    Community Art Store: Week Review

Hi, today I will try to open my community art store. Hold it, How is your week/weekend? As I’m writing, trying to maintain focus on this while talking to my mom. I’m working on opening up a community art store on my blog. Also, the other day, I was running in the morning and managed to get a few beauty shots on the boardwalk. Thursday, I found myself playing cricket with co-workers and day’s before, I’m squeezing in any chance I can get to draw. Okay getting off topic, I did mention community art store, it’s been on my mind for a few weeks now because it gives me the opportunity to be supported and continue to give back to the community.

    Community Art Store

I won’t reveal all my secrets, but stay tuned. Heh. Wait! Okay, I’m thinking of a way to connect with the community. I was thinking of posting the art I create from your ideas in the store. I have a few already, but they haven’t been designed and published. However, on Friday I worked on an abstract piece that will be part of the store. The art piece is a test run to see what is possible. I created a red rectangular pillow with cover. If you do decide to buy it, let me know your experience and what I can improve with my community art store. A small portion of the income will go as a donation back to the WordPress community.

    Who is included in Community?

While I’m doing all these things I mentioned earlier, I’m always thinking about how to help the community grow. More importantly, I want to answer the who questions in the fantastic bold header above. To be part of the art store community, just reach out, and we can see if it will work out. In the past, I worked with Dronstadblog. His work reaches many eyes and influences even me to draw. If he is okay with it, I would like to put his idea’s to life in the community art store.

  • Internet dating & Saturday in a review

Internet dating & Saturday in a review

Internet dating, I know, you’re probably asking lots of questions. I will reveal what that is about towards the end. I will say though; it has something to do with the Let’s draw meetup. Wait, a MAJOR artist who worked on several triple-A games, Trent Kaniuga gave me a YouTube critique on my artwork (below video). He created a course called Easy Art Lessons 1-5 on his Gumroad, that I followed and posted on Twitter. Aside from that, I wanted to discuss my weekend plan. Everybody weekend plan is different right? Saturday, I run in the morning, eat breakfast, go to the Metropolitan Musem of Art and draw with Imaginative Illustrators Of NYC. Everything else is just filler, right?

    The Run

Waking up to rain, wishing it would stop so that I can get on with my internet dating, sorry I mean jog on the boardwalk. Hah. Looking at my weather app, I only had to wait till 10 am. After that, breakfast, while watching the show Andromeda, a sci-fi space series about a heroic captain, named Dylan Hunt, who saved the universe from its destruction. Okay moving away from that, I’m excited about sharing jogging pictures below!

    Good Morning or Afternoon!

Finishing up breakfast, thinking about what Lets Draw and internet dating theme. Meanwhile, I’m getting dressed to leave for the museum. My goal is to see the amour exhibit and draw. To get the museum, I must take the Q train to Manhattan, an hour ride. What do you do with your commute? No worries, Let me tell you what I do. My commute involves me sketching shadows and objects that could turn into something meaningful. Today, I decided to draw a bunny rabbit and continue shading Fortuner from 7th Dragon III Code. It’s a Nintendo DS Sega Role playing game (RPG). Why the bunny? If you ask nicely, I might reveal it in the comments.

    Museum Visit

I made it to the Metropolitan Museum of Art! But, I ran out of time, so I decided to look at it and do a short walk around Central Park. I had about 20 minutes, but being hot and the possibility of traffic, I decided not to risk it. Then I caught the M4 bus that leads me to the let’s Draw: internet dating meetup.

    Let’s Draw: Internet Dating!

    Internet Dating
    Internet Dating

I arrived 30 minutes early! The cool thing about the Imaginative Illustrators of NYC meetup is that they host it inside a Cranberry Cafe. Why is that cool? Well, they have AC! Okay, the other reason is that I was hungry, so I ordered a tuna melt. During the meetup, we were asked to draw theme relating to internet dating. Sadly, I didn’t know what they meant by catfish. Do you know what catfish means? For example, when you’re using a dating app, the appearance of the person is different. In the last picture, the guy uses the app, finds a chick, goes to the cafe to meet her. However, he sees a dinosaur! Twist, the guy transforms into a dinosaur, and they fall in love. The end!

Quick Poses Equal Growth & Podcast Episode

What are the quick poses? It is a small introduction about me and what I’m drawing and future planning. Also, I have to apologize for the poor voice quality and will try to do better voice recording next round. Besides, after the recording of the podcast, I learned that the background made it hard to hear me speak. Therefore, I plan to use Adobe Audition to separate the music and the voice. I decided to record the podcast because time is against me, and I wanted to tell somebody about it. In doing so, I was able to relieve the pressure and start a dairy.

    Quick Poses Episode

Throughout the podcast, I get my inspiration using a tool called quick poses. You’re going to love it if you’re a striving artist like me? Why? For example, the mechanism throws 60-second poses at you, and your challenge is to draw them with as much accuracy as you can muster up. Similar, I love to get drawing prompts to challenge myself and explore the unknown. Earlier, I wrote about my sketchbook, describing my experience of drawing from life and getting inspiration from 7th Dragon 3 Code: VFO game fan art. Though drawing from quick poses will get me closer to the human’s proportions. Also, it will prevent me from making up impossible poses like in the following article.

    Quick Poses Podcast

    Thank you for listening!

Again sorry for the poor audio quality of quick poses recording, and I hope that maybe the summary did a better job explaining my experience. I want to include the text version of the podcast, but I don’t want to spend time writing it. On the other hand, does anybody know of excellent transcribing service for my podcast? Finally, if you’re interested in offering your service, let me know in the comments below or use my contact page.

Thank you for reading quick poses.

Consistent: 3 Tips to Start with Social Media

To market yourself, be consistent! Growing your authority is a daunting task, but if you keep at it, people will start to take notice. Wait, I’m rude! Welcome to my blog! It might be worth reading my intro at striving-pro-artist. Okay, so back to being steady in growing your presence, here are some things you can try:

    • Post something interesting at least two times a day
    • Always respond to comments
    • Give back to your favorite community by providing helpful advice

    Consistent Social Media Feature

    Why get into community life?

Imagine doing everything by yourself on a distant planet with nobody to talk about your accomplishments and failures. I had this feeling for a while, now and then when I post my stories, I might get a like on a blog post or view, but no comments. Then I discovered the particular truth about blogging, and I reached out for help. In other words, visit other blogger and comment. With this consistent effort, bloggers will take an interest in you! For example, I’ve provided feedback on www.blendernation.com to various artists. I have purchased a few valuable plugins, that will enhance my workflow. I will be giving back to the community, and people will take note of me. Always thank the creators of the tool, this will not only help the tool-maker but help you get noticed.

    Who can teach us?

When I used to play World of Tanks, I noticed those top players were famous, unmistakably right? Look, they didn’t start being astonishing tank drivers day one. They had maintained a consistent effort, learned a few things and started growing their reputation. People will want to know how you’re able to play so well? You can share your tips and tricks on YouTube or in a blog post. The key was being consistent here. If you keep at it, you will eventually get better. After you share your idea’s and people will praise you for it. Another important note here, keep trying different things, don’t give up. I lost interest in the game, but I found another passion. I’ve created a small post to get you started on your blog: 6 Strategies For Beginners.

    Consistent

Another word about being consistent, if you want to market yourself on social media, don’t limit yourself to one area. Try to look at Twitter and YouTube. I looked up to Casey Neistat. I watched his vlogs till the end. One important thing I noticed was that his success also came from being consistent, publishing his videos every night. I use Twitter for lighter topics, such as a new posting or a saying. You can try posting something on YouTube, such as I published my mother’s Russian recipes. Her recipes are essential to me because I want to show how my mother cooks and I want to document it. I can one day come back to it and try to follow along here.

Imaginative Illustrators Of NYC: How to draw?

Looking forward to going Imaginative Illustrators of NYC, wait! 🛑 New readers? Welcome to my blog! It might be worth reading my intro at striving-pro-artist. Hey, I got to look out for the newbies, but, meanwhile, I’m sketching at lighting speed, looking for purpose and running into challenges every day. While on my journey, I came across a meetup called “Just Draw” and immediately fell for it. Artists of many skill levels mashed together to draw a prompt for the day. I wanted to write more about it, but I wanted to experience the community, and warm up to it. We meet up on Saturday’s and draw for a few hours. During the event, at halftime, we share our progress and describe what we did. Occasionally we go out afterword for dinner or drinks. Although, I don’t prefer the drinking scene.

    Imaginative Illustrators: City nights

The past two meetups were about video game concept art and city nights. I came in with the plan 🤔 of using 7th Dragon 3 Code: VFO art book for reference material. City Nights wasn’t precisely what the art book contained, but since I was drawing and toning with pencil, it was okay. While drafting my scene, my mind forced me into a tense state. I am new, and I want to impress. Also, it was loud and distracting, but spacious. The skilled crowd of artists spoke about what they created and used various artistic languages to describe the work. Overall, they left me impressed and was entirely into coming back again.

    Prompt: Video Game Concept Art

Back again with Imaginative Illustrators! Okay, the second run in was about environments, villains, heroes, and weapons. Hold it! ✋ I am afraid, I said to myself. I have never drawn scoundrels and protagonists or armaments for that matter. My solution to that issue is to always go in with an open mind. I would recommend that for anybody who is starting out. In fact, the worst thing is that you show up and you can always leave. Luckily for me, I have done a beautiful waterfall picture in the past, so I felt confident. Do you face these issues in your routine? Where do you go? What do you do?

WAIT… I have more SWEETS to give!

I spoke to a few artists at Imaginative Illustrators that give me a lot of things to check out. In fact, I have a screenshot of a Google Keep with a wealth of information! For whatever reason, I’m impressed that the Cranberry Cafe, has a bathroom on the second floor! Truth! I didn’t know they had a bathroom until I came back a second time. 😂 In other news, do you know whether I should get another mentor? I’m currently reporting to “The Studio Fine Art Gallery.”

Round 21 – 7th Dragon III Code: VFD – Healing Waterfall

    7th Dragon III Code: VFD

Today, I want to be an artist. Ha! I’m an artist every day. I see things. If your new to my blog, please check out striving to become a professional artist so that I can give you a proper introduction. A few weeks ago a coworker approached me and told me 7th Dragon III Code: VFD game he had purchased. It came with an artbook. He knew I was into digital art and recommended I draw a waterfall scene from the game. Specifically, he wanted the Cladeon Environment. Immediately, I signed up and started painting. I used all my knowledge from my earlier experience with the Nightmare to produce a free magical land with waterfalls. While I didn’t have art direction from Dronstad, I focused on making sure my land looks as realistic as possible. Creating shadows on the outer parts of the drawing, reminding myself where the light is flowing from and slightly stressing myself that I don’t know much about composition. The artwork started on June 11 and ended July 14.

How I pushed through my struggle?

Honestly, I haven’t played 7th Dragon III Code: VFD *, but I had watched him play it. It reminds me of Final Fantasy 7 because of the odd in shape character graphics. While rendering my art, I started to fear that my brush strokes are going on autopilot for the past few weeks now. When that happens to me, I get bored, and It’s usually a signal that I need to move on to another project. Before I got to this point, I went through a few challenges, while developing my skills. My experience and confidence came to me from my previous drawing for Dronstad with the Nightmare painting. While drawing, I got comfortable with Jason’s texture brushes. However, now I feel like I’m relying too heavily on them. The brushes create unplanned happy accidents as I render my art. I want to go out on a limb and say I’m a fake artist! 😭 Then I remind myself that I’m the one moving and make the brush strokes. The ideas are coming from my brain, and it’s my struggle. So I digress. I’m bored now, and I want to take on a new challenge. I want to be able to plan out my drawings and spend less time rendering. Again, I said it before in the Nightmare, no studio is going to hire somebody who takes weeks to finish a single piece of art. Unless you’re a well-known artist with a trustworthy reputation, then this might not apply.

Mom saw the 7th Dragon III Code waterfall landscape.

    She started saying the following words;

Mom

    Translation

The amazing power of living water. Who looks at this miracle of nature and hears the noise of the water of the waterfall through the fog … imagine that you are standing next to the fog will dissipate and you will regain health and strength to live. Blessed be the Lord who creates for us all that is necessary. Mom

    Sketchbook Scrapbook July 🐇

How about I share my sketchbook scrapbook on my blog and describe what I was thinking? I was sitting outside on a bench in front of the beach, and it hit me. I have all these pencil sketches in my sketchbook. It might be worth sharing them with my followers and the WordPress community. I know what your thinking, why would I want to follow a blog that posts about sketches? Okay, here is my thought, I show you my process, and you can ask questions about it. I strongly feel you will learn a thing or two from me because I’m super passionate about art. Heck, I might learn from your questions too!

Where did you cook up the idea? 👨‍🍳

I got the idea of a sketchbook scrapbook several weeks ago; a co-worker purchased a game called 7th Dragon 3 Code: VFO. According to Google, It’s the first Western release for a Japanese RPG series that began with 2009’s more named merely 7th Dragon. Regardless, he gave me an art book that came with the game. Henceforth, I decided to draw characters from it. Then I just started adding small pencil marks into my sketchbook. Of course nothing short of crappy chicken scratch, but it began to fill up pages.

    Art Instructor 👨‍🎨

Days later, my art instructor taught me a new way to draw, follow the shadows and nothing has edges. I thought to myself, how will I practice this new technique? He recommends I take a piece of crumpled paper, put new lighting around it and draw the damn thing. Now, the idea works well at home, but during my commute, I decided to use the art book as reference and practice.

    Scrapbook Ideas 📚

Wow, thank you for reading my sketchbook scrapbook idea! Okay, feast your eyes on these pencil marks. Aren’t we all special eh? I have more on my Deviant Art page.

📢 Findings On How To Timelapse ⏱

Ultimately got to my video timelapse finished with the help of Adobe Photoshop, Premier and After Effects. I had forgotten to write how much seconds between shots. It might have been 30 frames per second or FPS. I hope the video comes out right. Nobody watches them anyway, so who cares right? While talking with a friend over the phone, I discovered that about 600 images had a freaking orange color background. The result of leaving my Chronolapse recording while I had closed my tablet. During this time I had joined the Challenges Wild West Key-Frame Concept Art Competition. I’m hoping to get good feedback from the hosts.

Findings On How To Timelapse ⏱

Meanwhile, I’ve been forcibly squeezing my brains to come up with an ending for all my YouTube video’s, but nothing seems to come out. YouTube has the annotations at the end of the video that gives me many options to get traffic moving to my channel. For example, I can have them subscribe, view a playlist or a random video. YouTube will place annotations at the end of the video, 20 seconds before the closing. My issue is that I want a way to speak and have a charming character appear on the scene. I got the idea from watching another YouTube  channel called “Draw With Jazza.” The solution is to use Adobe Character Animator, with the help of a webcam and an animated character I can make this happen. I’ve even written out a speech, what do you think?

Many days later, I finally published my video (see video above). No clue what I’m doing, but passionate to get to my goal. As an artist, I haven’t yet identified with a niche. What kind of theme’s do you like? For example, do you a fantasy or with a story? Should I put all my effort into making a new style or should I look at others? Maybe I can combine techniques I love and make a fantastic idea!?

Wild West Art Key Frame Competition

It’s been a while. Sorry, dear followers! Let me update you on what been happening in my life so that we can have a quick chat. A few weeks ago I went on a ski trip to Jay Peak. The week before I’ve been missing my blog posts and focusing on creating a time-lapse of me drawing. Somehow I cannot break the habit of setting up my writing schedule. Then I joined a Wild West art contest. My goal is to put the longer waiting tasks on hold, and the shorter life posts up for grabs. The issue is that my life revolves around a solid routine, so I don’t want to bore or repeat myself. Any ideas how to keep it interesting?

    Wild West Art Competition 🐴

I joined a Wild West art competition on ArtStation. Feel free to check it out so that you can cheer me on! I have wanted to try a challenge for the longest time. The best part is that it has a deadline. I’ve needed a date by which something is to finished because it will help me stay focused. I urge you all to try it and let me know in the comments below how you did it so that others reading this can reach their goals. For those that are curious why I put stress towards art competition, please take a look at Striving Professional Artist. Besides, I got another fantastic surprise coming down the horizon, but I can’t talk about it until I work out the details. All I can say is that it’s art related.

    Jay Peak Ski Trip ❄

    Going up to Jay Peak
    Going up to Jay Peak

What happened at jay peak? We arrived super late, I unpacked and got ready for the jacuzzi. Then bed. The next day, we skied. I fell before making it on the slope. I injured my back. It pretty much went downhill from there. Haha, maybe I can remix that sentence into a joke?. I mean I had fun with friends, but it forced my body beyond its limits. When I got home on Sunday night, I felt my back injury. Monday morning I took the day off because I couldn’t move.

Trying to Keep a Promise ❤

The last few blog posts I keep harping about is a dream of mine. I couldn’t do a daily blog post series. I haven’t figured how to find time to write my ideas during work hours while trying to squeeze in art time and my other daily adventures.

    Random Word 📜

Cur; An aggressive dog or one that is in poor condition, especially a mongrel; A contemptible man or deserving contempt; despicable. If I were to try to fix the word into my Jay Peak story, I would say that I was in poor condition for the Jay Peak trip. Let me know if that makes sense?

      • Okay, why a rocket? Lol, Wait! I will leave two apples and take the rest to space with my red colored undies!
    5. Sun or the Moon?
      • I need more sun to sleep better during night-time because of sun imbalance due to my career choice!
    6. What genre do you like reading and why?
      • I don’t read much, but I like books that teach me useful handy skills that will help me survive. I’m up for any genre, even if it puts me to sleep!
