Drawing Plan 42: Bawl, belch. Click, Screech. Waft, waft.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 42, yesterday, I went to the doctor to get my annual physical. I haven’t done so for a year now, since the COV-19. During the visit, I was impressed by how quickly they moved me from room to room and got me setup. Also, the longest part was waiting for the sonogram. Otherwise, everything went well. Anyhow, let’s try to move to the drawing plan 42.

In the evening, my friend Michael and I hosted our Wednesday Imaginative Illustrators of NYC or IINYC for short. Also, the prompts for this week were a soup dragon and rescue dog. Besides, our variable prompt was national bow tie day. We had ten or so artists join. Everybody did an excellent job coming up with their interpretations of the topics. Anyhow, let’s move to the drawing plan 42.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 41, yesterday, I spent the morning with Norton again. Man, I should ask these people to move into my house. I mean, I see them almost every few days. Later, a tech logged into my machine and repeated steps I did a few days ago. A few hours later, the same problem I had still existed. Also, my TimeMachine doesn’t work and is blocked somehow by the antivirus software. Then, the tech told me that they would schedule a follow-up call on Thursday or Friday. I feel like this pain will never end. Anyhow, let’s try to sprinkle over to the drawing plan 41.

Last night, I discovered SideCar, it’s a macOS application that allows you to connect your iPad device to your MacBook Pro. Then you can use it as a secondary display. Interestingly, you can use your Apple Pencil to draw. However, my MacBook Pro is so old that I had to install a custom patch. After doing that, it worked for me, and I was able to draw but with some lag and poor cursor placement. Finally, let’s squirt over to the drawing plan 41.

Drawing Plan 40: Bloop, bloop. Warble, warble. Tweet, tweet.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 40, yesterday, I spend the morning trying to fix my MacBook Pro. It’s an older model from late 2012, after removing all of Google Chrome components or at least most of them. Then, my computer stopped crashing. Besides, I’m glad that Apple has a fantastic support team to assist me every time I have an issue. Warble, warble, let’s try to move to the rest of yesterday.

The second half of the day I spent working and looking up a new laptop to purchase. I reviewed Apple, Lenovo, and even Razor laptops. The cost of these machines is ridiculous. However, if you want the best, it will cost you anywhere between two grand to five grand. All in all, I can’t seem to figure out how to justify the cost. Also, I love Apple’s support and productivity; windows seem to have some positive too. Anyway, let’s bloop over to drawing plan 40.

Drawing Plan 39: Slap, slap, rustle, bloop, drizzle. Chatter, Jingle.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 39, yesterday, I worked on mostly chores and did one rock drawing study. My goal is to illustrate ten a day, but every day, I have a different excuse not to reach that goal. For example, I’m focused on the latest drawing tablet as opposed to spending an hour studying rocks. Who would blame me, but myself? Anyhow, let’s try to slap over to the drawing plan 39.

The other day, I woke up with a massive headache, and my body was sore from the hike. I was sluggish and had to take a Tylenol. Anyhow, today is going to be interesting, let’s drizzle over to the drawing plan 39.

Man, the other day, my computer monitor wasn’t working. After I updated my MacBook Pro OS to the latest version, things went fowl. Besides, to reinstall a few drivers for my Wacom drawing tablet, I had to figure out how to get my monitor working. It’s the dumbest thing. Hit restart, and close the lid quickly, then the external monitor starts showing me the Apple logo. Sigh, let’s jingle over to the drawing plan 39.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 38, yesterday we went on a hike to Anthony’s nose. Towards the end of the slog, I realized that 8 miles are tough. Also, downhill everything is hilly and bumpy. During the trek, I tried my best to make friends because I don’t know any of them, and I want to have more friends. One of the hikers was a programmer like me and taught me a breathing technique. He mentioned that Americans breathe through the chest, but it’s better to use the belly. Anyhow, let’s try to rustle along to drawing plan 38.

During the hike, I couldn’t do any drawing and had most of my focus speaking to people and moving uphill. After the hike, we drove to one of the lakes to call off. I can’t share too many pictures because I don’t think my friends would like that very much. I hope the ones I took give you an idea of what the place has to offer. Towards the end of the trip, we all went to Korea town in NJ, BCD Tofu House, and ate our dinner. The trip was fun, so let’s try to rustle along to the drawing plan 38.

Drawing Plan 37: Sprinkle, sprinkle little star. Dribble, dribble little

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 37, yesterday, I spent some time speaking with a Norton specialist. He had me reinstall the software a few times and change a few settings. My goal was to get TimeMachine working. I think the tech managed to do that. He even set up another call for the feature to check in on my progress. I was left impressed and happy that things are finally falling into place. Anyhow, let’s try to sprinkle along to the drawing plan 37.

Not much drawing happened yesterday, other than our live stream yesterday morning. Nobody showed up to the Aspiring Artists meetup, but I’m not surprised, people don’t know yet. But hopefully, after I let a few people know about it during Imaginative Illustrators meetup, more will show up. Also, the meetup is at 8:30 am, so it’s a severe sacrifice for the sake of learning to illustrate. However, it is the best time to do your most important task. Not in the end, but let’s try to dribble-dribble to the drawing plan 37.

Drawing Plan 36: Drip, bloop. Giggle, giggle in a pickle. Clatter.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 36, yesterday, mostly usual items, but interestingly, I got my meetup started. Aspiring Artists of NYC meetup was born into this world. It’s a place to teach framework and structure to improve your drawing skills. Last night, I spent the evening setting up Zoom links and events for the meetups. It will run similar to my live streams. Anyhow, let’s try to pickle over to the drawing plan 36.

Last night, while talking to my girl, I realized that I’m not a teacher, more like a guide. I don’t know too much about art, but I’m excited about using Art DIET from Reuben Lara. Okay, enough about yesterday, let’s move the clatter and clap over to the drawing plan 36.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 35, yesterday, I had the imaginative illustrators meetup, our topics were night owl, seaside ballet and vinyl records. I decided to go with night owl because I felt interested in drawing the creature. I went over to Pinterest to get a few ideas and started sketching out the primary forms of a bird. An excellent way to illustrate is to find silhouettes because they strip out the details and allow me to study the shape language. Anyhow, let’s try to ding over to drawing plan 35.

Nothing unusual happened in the morning, but in the evening, my good friend reached out to me, and we finally started a new Meetup. He surprised me because I didn’t have a new name for the meetup. However, I know that our goal is to speed up the learning process, using collaboration. Besides, I want to include and practice the art DIET during Meetup events. Before we write too much, let’s try to grunt over to the drawing plan 35.

The great thing about having a meetup is that it has enormous potential to bring likeminded individuals who also want to learn together. Okay, lets clang over to today’s plan.

Drawing Plan 34: Drizzle, fizzle. Splash, bloop. Flutter and flip.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 34, yesterday I live-streamed rock duplication and tried to correct my TimeMachine issues on the MacBook Pro. Having more success during my live stream, I decided to keep thinking of ways to grow that community. For example, I can try bringing in interest through Eventbrite or set up an event on my blog to see if people are interested in RSVP over some other means. Anyhow, let’s try to fizzle to the drawing plan 34.

    Twitch Streamlabs
    Twitch Streamlabs

Last, the night I tried to stream on Twitch, but I got caught up working on my streaming heads up display. I got a little frustrated that I couldn’t move things around on Streamlabs using my Android phone. Every time I click-dragging some layer around, things would move to the back, and the camera layer would get screwed up. In any case, I wanted something simple, my bunny logo and name. Then people can look me up and visit my blog. What the splash bloop, let’s try to move along to the drawing plan 34.

However, I still feel I will have better success in building a community around Meetup.com and grow it the way I want. For example, I want people to have more focused on the topic of fundamentals and creativity. For instance, if I made the group about the DIET and building creativity, would it be a good start? I think so because its a start and the only way to find out for myself is to try it. Of course, if I can find an art DIET community, I would be interested in joining. Okay, let’s move splash over to the drawing plan 34.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 33, yesterday I worked with Apple to further understand my backup issue on my MacBook Pro. It turns out that Norton Antivirus was blocking the TimeMachine from completing my backups. My next step is to reach out to them and find out what I can do to prevent that from happening. Also, I want to speak with Apple and let them know what the solution requires. Anyhow, let’s try to move on to the drawing plan 33.

Hi, friends, for the drawing plan 32, yesterday, I started with the usual morning pages and publishing my blog post. Then, instead of going to draw, I went back to troubleshoot my cloud and save Amazon products to my Honey app. Do you see how week my resolve was yesterday?

I could go out and buy a new hard drive and purchase the items of Amazon at full price without waiting for a deal. Also, I need to contact apple today after I try to do another backup of my MacBook Pro on my cloud using the time machine. Anyhow, let’s rustle over and try to move to the drawing plan 32.

The Honey app is excellent if you want the money back or cashback or gift cards. Also, it keeps track of coupons and automatically inserts them into the shopping cart. It’s great because once you set it up, its free money, and you don’t need to spend time looking for deals. The catch is they spy on your shopping habits, so I have a love, hate relationship with them. You know nothing is free in this world.

You either work your butt off, or you take shortcuts so you can focus on what is an essential use of your time!

Drawing Plan 31: Bustle, drizzle. Water plops. Clang-clink.

Hi, friends, let us talk about yesterday and then move to the drawing plan 31. The other day, we went upstate to push a bunch of bags of little pebbles uphill. It took us two hours on a bus from port authority to get the cottage. The house is on top of a hill with rocks set as the steps. At the top, we met the parents and ate a few snacks before we started moving the loads. Let’s keep plopping along to the drawing plan 31.

At the base of the hill, we set up the pushcarts with bungee ropes and tested different paths to go up the mountain. The most natural route was up left and up and around through the forest hill. Her dad would meet us at the base and mid-hill to help us push the carts or put the ropes on the carts. I think we moved around 20 bags of pebbles uphill. By the end of the experience, we got a great workout and learned about ropes. Anyhow, let us bustle over to the drawing plan 31.

    Novice - Ragnarok - drawing plan 31
    Novice – Ragnarok

On the way back home, I got to draw a little bit on the bus. I was watching Sami Jen illustrate hair on her original character because I was drawing a novice. A novice is a playable character in Ragnarok. It’s the first-class you start with when you join the game. Some time back, I sketched the drawing on paper, while on the bus, I took a picture of it. My goal is to color it in and make it look fabulous because I want to get that feeling of starting fresh in a game. Clang-clink, let us move to today’s drawing plan 31.
